Local businesses support 4-H through Clover Promotion

October is National 4-H Month. The Clover Promotion is a time during which customers at participating businesses may buy a paper clover for $1, raising funds for 25,000 young people involved in Maine 4-H. Seventy percent of the funds raised go to local 4-H programs, while 30 percent goes to summer camps, trips and other statewide 4-H offerings.

Waldo County 4-H works with 443 youth who participate in 10 community clubs and 10 4-H afterschool program sites. Waldo 4-H is pleased to thank Paul’s True Value in Brooks and Viking Lumber in Belfast and Lincolnville for having 4-H Clovers available for a $1 donation at the check out.

Friends, neighbors and family who support local youth programs can be assured that 4-H Clover funds raised in Waldo County support Waldo County 4-H youth who are learning leadership, citizenship and life skills through hands-on community based experiences.
