Three of the four Midcoast high school field hockey teams that play in Knox or Waldo counties will experience the upcoming postseason.

In the final official Maine Principals’ Association Heal Point Standings for Eastern Class B, Belfast (10-1-3, 113.7755 points) finished third, Mount View of Thorndike (11-2-1, 111.9898 points) fourth, Oceanside (8-6, 55.1020 points) eighth and Camden Hills (6-8, 40.5612 points) 10th. Nokomis of Newport (13-0-1, 148.5332 points) finished first. The top nine teams qualify for the postseason.

Nokomis is the defending state Class B champion.

The prelim playoffs are scheduled to be played on Saturday, Oct. 15 and the quarterfinals Tuesday, Oct. 18 for No. 3 versus No. 6 and No. 2 versus No. 7 and Wednesday, Oct. 19 for No. 1 versus No. 8 and No. 4 versus No. 5. The semifinals will be Saturday, Oct. 22 and the regional final on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at Hampden Academy. The state final is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 31 at Yarmouth High School.

As it shakes down, No. 8 Oceanside will host No. 9 Waterville (7-7, 42.7296 points) in a prelim playoff game on Monday, Oct. 17 at at 4 p.m. The winner of that game will play at No. 1 Nokomis in the quarterfinals on Wednesday, Oct. 19, probably at 3 p.m. Oceanside lost to Waterville 2-1 and Nokomis 3-1 during regular-season games.

No. 3 Belfast will host No. 6 Foxcroft Academy of Dover-Foxcroft (11-3, 96.5561 points) in the quarterfinals on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 3 p.m. The Lions do not play the Ponies during the regular season.

No. 4 Mount View will host No. 5 Winslow (11-3, 101.1480 points) in the quarterfinals on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 3 p.m. The Mustangs lost to the Black Raiders 4-3 in the teams lone regular-season meeting.

Camden Hills missed the playoffs, finishing just 2.1684 points behind Waterville, which filled the final postseason slot.

This season, in 14 regular-season games, Belfast outscored foes 37-5, including recording seven shutouts, and was shut out twice. Mount View outscored foes 48-7, with 10 shutouts and was shut out twice. Oceanside outscored opponents 40-19, with four shutouts and was shut out three times.
