An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

Law enforcement officials with Troop D of the Maine State Police responded to the following incidents in Waldo County recently. Anyone with information regarding ongoing investigations is asked to call 1-800-452-4664.

Sept. 18

Troopers Patrick Hood and Benjamin Sweeney responded to a harassment complaint in Swanville.

Sept. 20

Troopers Sweeney and Hood responded to a family fight on Bings Boulevard in Swanville. It was determined no crime had taken place.

Sept. 21

Troopers Stephen Morrell and Greg Stevens met with a complainant who reported he believed that his brother was trying to poison him; however, had no credible information as to why. He was encouraged to install surveillance cameras around his property.

Troopers Sweeney and Hood responded to an unconscious, intoxicated male lying on the fog line on Swan Lake Avenue in Swanville. He was evaluated by Belfast EMS personnel and released.

Troopers Hood and Sweeney responded to a 911 hang-up on Oak Hill Road in Swanville. It was determined that the hang-up was in error.

Sept. 23

Trooper Bethany Couturier stopped a vehicle at Country Market Store in Frankfort for bad passing. The minor operator of the vehicle was found to be transporting alcohol. Passenger Ryan Parker, 22, had bought the alcohol for a minor female passenger. The operator was summoned for illegal transportation by a minor and Parker was summoned for furnishing liquor to a minor.

Trooper Couturier and Trooper Jonathan Russell responded to Stevens Road in Swanville in reference to a subject being intoxicated and out of control. The subject had left the residence prior to the arrival of the troopers.

Sept. 24

Trooper Couturier and Trooper Elisha Fowlie responded to Pineridge Drive in Winterport for a verbal argument. No assaults had taken place and both parties were warned for disorderly conduct.

Troopers Couturier and Fowlie responded to Oak Hill Road in Swanville for disorderly subjects. Both parties were warned for disorderly conduct.

Troopers Hood, Couturier and Sweeney investigated a family fight in Winterport. It was determined that the fight was verbal only. No crime had taken place.

Sept. 25

Troopers Morrell and Stevens received a complaint of telephone harassment in Prospect. The complainant advised that he was being repeatedly called by his ex-girlfriend’s mother. Contact was made with the mother and she was advised not to contact the complainant.

Troopers Morrell and Stevens received a complaint of a speeding vehicle on Pout Town Road in Stockton Springs. Troopers Morrell and Stevens patrolled the area with negative contact.

Troopers Morrell and Stevens responded to Middle Street in Stockton Springs to assist a Waldo County Sheriff’s deputy who was actively fighting a respondent. Off-duty Deputy Darren Moody was approached by Dylin Knight, 18, who was intoxicated and began to push and fight Deputy Moody. Deputy Moody restrained Knight until working units from the Sheriff’s Office, Searsport Police Department and Maine State Police arrived. Knight was arrested for assault on an officer and resisting arrest.

Troopers Morrell and Stevens responded to Stream Road in Winterport for a suspicious incident. The complainant reported that she found clothing in a backpack which she thought belonged to a child. Upon examining the items they are believed to belong to a teenage female. She was advised to take the items to the Winterport Town Office.

Sept. 26

Troopers Morrell and Stevens were contacted by a 26-year-old female complainant, who requested information on retrieving her security deposit from a previous landlord. She was advised of the appropriate avenue in which to resolve the issue.

Troopers Morrell and Stevens responded to Login Road in Frankfort for a reported family fight. The 34-year-old female complainant stated that earlier in the evening she and her brother had been arguing about their father, who recently passed away, and she wanted it reported.

Troopers Morrell and Stevens were contacted by a 60-year-old female complainant. She advised that over the past few years she and her brother have had a constant feud. The day before, when she was at his property, he pushed her and told her to leave. The complainant did not wish to pursue criminal charges.

Sept. 27

Troopers Morrell and Stevens conducted a speaking engagement at Belfast Area High School. The troopers spoke to driver education students about safe vehicle operation and how to react if and when they are stopped by police.

Troopers Morrell and Stevens responded to Mount Ephraim Road in Searsport to assist the Searsport Police Department with administering a test to an operator involved in a single-vehicle crash. The operator was later arrested for OUI by the investigating Searsport police officer. Troopers Morrell and Stevens assisted at the crash scene.

Troopers Morrell and Stevens responded to West Main Street in Monroe for a suspicious person complaint. The 46-year-old male complainant stated he observed a male subject walking off of his property on to his neighbors. The complainant stated he did not see the male again. Patrols were conducted with negative contact.

Trooper Shawn Porter was traveling on Swan Lake Avenue in Swanville when he came across a vehicle that had struck a telephone pole head on. The telephone pole was broken in half and the two occupants of the vehicle were standing outside the vehicle. The owner/driver of the vehicle was Brandon Crooker, 19. After investigation, Crooker was summoned for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sept. 28

Trooper Porter pulled over a vehicle on Route 3 in Searsmont for a loud exhaust. The owner, 24-year-old Joshua Townsley, handed Trooper Porter a baggie of marijuana. Townsley was summoned for possession of usable amount of marijuana.

Trooper Porter responded to North Main Street in Winterport for a person out of control. Trooper Porter was able to calm the person down and transport them to the hospital for an evaluation.

Sept. 29

Trooper Fowlie stopped a car on route 3 in Montville for speeding (89 mph in a posted 55 mph zone). The driver, 22-year-old Stephen Porter was summoned for criminal speed. The passenger, 21-year-old Michael Porter, admitted to possessing marijuana when asked. Michael Porter was summoned for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sept. 30

Trooper Couturier stopped Tracy Luke, 28, for a seatbelt violation on Boston Road in Winterport. Luke’s license was under suspension and she was summoned for operating after license suspension.

Trooper Couturier stopped Kevin Walsh, 46, on Boston Road in Winterport for multiple inspection violations. Walsh’s license was currently under suspension and he was summoned for operating after license suspension and also summoned for the inspection violations.
