The First Church in Belfast, United Church of Christ, in conjunction with the Social Justice Committee of the Unitarian Universalist Church and the Peace & Justice Group of Waldo County, will sponsor a Waldo County Community Resources Fair on Saturday, Oct. 29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The First Church in Belfast, located at 8 Court St.

At this day-long event, representatives from Waldo County educational institutions, social service agencies, non-profit organizations, and religious organizations will come together to present information and to offer workshops on a range of services available in Waldo County to meet the needs of the public.

Topics will include elder care, substance abuse treatment, domestic violence prevention, services for the homeless, youth activities, hospice care, food assistance opportunities, and others.

This event will be free and open to the public. Save the date for this important countywide gathering of the resources that could make a big difference in your life. Participating agencies will be offered opportunities to have informational tables and/or workshops to educate the public about the services they provide and to solicit contributions to their organizations.
