A man who allegedly assaulted a woman in Unity Wednesday, Oct. 19 also earned a burglary charge after police say he attempted to approach the alleged victim a second time by climbing through a window.

Devin Trull, 19 of Brooks was arrested on charges of domestic violence assault and burglary following a series of events that allegedly occurred at a residence on Main Street in Unity at about 1:30 p.m.

Lt. Jason Trundy with the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office said a female had called police and stated that Trull had just assaulted her. The woman, who Trundy said was calling from inside the residence, had reportedly locked all the doors after Trull left the premesis. She then called law enforcement for help.

Meanwhile, Trundy said, Trull made a second appearance at the home.

“While she was on the phone he came back to the house,” Trundy said. “…He had crawled through the window trying to get back inside the house to get to her.”

Trundy said police arrived within minutes of Trull’s attempt to re-enter the residence, and  arrested him without incident.

Trundy said the alleged victim was not seriously injured in the incident and did not require medical treatment.

Trull was transported to Waldo County Jail. He is scheduled to appear at Waldo County Superior Court in Belfast Thursday, Dec. 1.
