The Center for Maine Contemporary Art, 162 Russell Ave., will present a free drop-in workshop for children and families in their new downstairs ArtLab studio Saturday, Nov. 5 from 2 to 4 p.m. ArtLab instructor Marcie Jan Bronstein of Belfast will guide children and their families in making a set of handmade stamps and gift cards.

The session is an opportunity to work creatively with children to design and create their own stamps, using very simple techniques. Handmade cards are a great gift.

“We’ve had some wonderful classes and workshops for children and adults since we opened the ArtLab this past summer, and we’d like to welcome the community in to an art-filled afternoon in our bright and inviting new space,” said Bronstein.

All ages are welcome. No reservations are required and all materials will be provided. CMCA will present a second family ArtLab workshop Saturday, Dec. 3 from 2 to 4 p.m.

ArtLab is made possible in part by support from Camden National Bank and individual donors. CMCA media sponsor is Maine Home + Design and Maine magazines. The Center for Maine Contemporary Art is a nonprofit organization advancing contemporary art in Maine through exhibitions and educational programs. For more information, visit cmcanow.org.
