The high school boys and girls soccer regular seasons recently drew to a close as one Waldo County team remains in playoff contention. The following is a recap of recent regular-season results:


Mount View 3, Lincoln Academy 0 … At Thorndike Oct. 18, the Mustangs ended the regular season with a victory over the visiting Eagles.

Aaron Elkins creased the net twice for Mount View, while Tim Bennett added one goal and Jack Simpson two assists.

Chris Montminy made three saves for the ‘Stangs, while Merritt Wotton had 10 saves for the Eagles. Mount View outshot Lincoln Academy 17-5 and held a 4-0 edge in corner kicks.

Elkins scored the first goal of the game on penalty kick with 35:22 remaining and scored again at the 27:20-mark, on an assist from Simpson. Bennett rounded out the scoring with 12:16 remaining, on another assist from Simpson.

Belfast 3, Medomak Valley 0 … At Belfast Oct. 18, the Lions earned a shutout victory over the visiting Panthers.

Yanni Rakis, Scott Kulikowski and Ryan Rice each creased the net for the Lions. Tyler Baker made three saves in goal for Belfast, while Robby Griffin made eight stops for Medomak Valley. The Lions outshot the Panthers 14-5 and held a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks.

George Stevens Academy 1, Searsport 0 … At Searsport Oct. 17, the Vikings fell to the visiting Eagles on a second-half penalty kick by Schuyler Van der Eb.

Buddy Ellis, Will Hutchinson and Austin Bean combined to make 21 saves on 27 shots in goal for Searsport, while Ben Olivari made 17 saves on 23 shots for GSA. The hosts also attempted five corner kicks.


Medomak Valley 5, Belfast 0 … At Waldoboro Oct. 18, the Panthers earned a shutout win over the Lions. Julie Ennamorati, Alanna Vose, Jordan Moore, Mallory Conary and Maria Ennamorati tallied goals, while Vose, Sami Griffin and Maria Ennamorati each added assists in the win.

Amanda Hendrickson-Belloguet made two saves for the Panthers, while Autumn Jackson made 10 saves for the Lions. Medomak Valley outshot Belfast 22-2 and held a 3-2 edge in corner kicks.
