Police are investigating a pair of recent burglaries that were reported within two days of one another — one involving a Main Street business and the other being reported at a camp on Halfmoon Pond.

Searsport Police Chief Dick LaHaye said the first burglary was reported at Dino’s Pizza on Main Street Saturday, Oct. 22. Employees there told police cash had been taken from the business.

On Monday, Oct. 24, LaHaye said police responded to the report of a second break-in, and this one was at a camp on Halfmoon Pond. The owners, who LaHaye said are living at the camp year-round, stated that the person(s) who entered their home took cash but that no other items appeared to be missing.

LaHaye declined to specify the amount of cash that went missing from either the business or the camp, noting that the investigation into both incidents remains active.

Anyone with information about either of the break-ins is asked to contact police at 548-2304.
