A Massachusetts driver escaped serious injury after the truck he was traveling in skidded off the road and rolled over Sunday morning, Oct. 30, in an accident that police say was caused by a combination of speed and slippery roads.

Lt. Jason Trundy with the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office said Unity Ambulance personnel treated Brent P. St. Pierre, 31, of Dorchester, Mass. for minor cuts at the scene of the crash, which took place on Albion Road (Route 202) just before 9:30 a.m.

According to the accident report, St. Pierre was headed west on Route 202 in a 2007 Dodge pickup when he lost control. The vehicle left the road on the eastbound side and struck a utility pole. The impact sent the truck into a 180-degree spin, after which the vehicle rolled over, coming to rest on the drivers side.

In his report, the responding officer, Deputy Jim Porter, noted that St. Pierre “was operating too fast for the conditions.”

According to the accident report, St. Pierre was wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident.
