An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

Law enforcement officials with Troop D of the Maine State Police responded to the following incidents in Waldo County in recent weeks. Anyone with information regarding ongoing investigations is asked to call 1-800-452-4664.

Oct. 17

Trooper Jonathan Russell stopped a vehicle on Route 1A in Prospect for a speed violation. The operator, Richard Fournier, 30, was arrested for OUI and taken to Waldo County Correctional Center.

Trooper Corey Smith investigated a domestic assault report in Winterport. No evidence to support the allegation was found.

Trooper Smith received a report from Winterport of a silver 2004 GMC extended cab pickup that was stolen from the driveway overnight. The truck has a fabric tonneau cover on the bed.

On Oct. 17 and 18, Trooper Smith received reports of a male and female operating a white Dodge Caravan in the town of Frankfort who were going door to door soliciting air purifiers. They also requested entrance into homes to take air samples and photograph the property. The investigation is ongoing.

Oct. 23

Troopers Jason Madore and Benjamin Sweeney investigated a family fight at the Country Store in Frankfort. It was determined that there was no physical contact.

Oct. 24

Trooper Bethany Couturier and Trooper Russell responded to Swanville for a possible domestic incident. Upon arrival it was determined the parties were arguing over child custody issues. The female subject was asked to leave the residence until the court could determine what the arrangements would be. The Department of Health and Human Services was also contacted.

Oct. 25

Trooper Jonah O’Roak received a complaint from Swanville of some possible stolen railroad metals at Belfast Recycling in Swanville. Chief Falvey of the Boston and Maine Railroad Police identified the metals as being stolen from a railroad project in Bucksport. Larry Carrozzo, 53, of Searsport had allegedly scrapped the metal and was summoned by Chief Falvey for receiving stolen property.

Troopers Madore and Sweeney responded to Belfast for a report of a probation violation. Constance Either, 50, of Belfast was arrested for consuming alcohol in violation of her probation.

Oct. 28

Trooper Elisha Fowlie stopped a vehicle on Route 141 in Belfast for a defect. Kean Ripley, 30, had a suspended driver’s license and was summoned for operating after suspension. Passenger Patricia Johnson, 25, had an active warrant for her arrest. Trooper Fowlie arrested Johnson on the warrant.

Troopers Couturier and Fowlie responded to Stream Road in Winterport for a criminal mischief complaint. Robert Wright, 52, was summoned for criminal mischief.

Oct. 29

Trooper Sweeney responded to a vehicle rollover on Loggin Road in Frankfort. The driver swerved to miss two deer in the center of the road. She went into the ditch on the right side of the road and rolled the vehicle multiple times. The driver was taken to a hospital and later released with minor injuries.
