The Belfast Area Peewee Football League experienced another successful fall season, which included plenty of recent action and the annual 50/50 raffle Oct. 16.

In Oct. 16 play at Troy Howard Middle School, the Vikings beat the Rams 44-0. The Vikings got on the board when Dean Grass made a 45-yard kick return and Skylar Perkins earned the extra points. Late in the quarter, quarterback Stanley Sturgis broke away on a keeper for a 40-yard score. As the quarter ended, Viking Tyler Bartlett intercepted a pass.

In the young players’ quarter, Viking quarterback Dylan Abbott handed the ball to Isaac Bernosky for a 40-yard touchdown and the extra points were scored by Grady Doolan. Later in the quarter, Viking Chris Kelly sacked the Ram quarterback as he threw the ball and Elliott Anderson intercepted and ran 45 yards for a score. The extra points were scored by Devindale Reynolds.

In the third quarter, Viking quarterback Stanley Sturgis passed to Dean Grass for a 35-yard touchdown, with the extra points scored Dakoda Doolan.

In the fourth quarter, Viking Stanley Sturgis scored on a keeper from 30 yards. Late in the quarter, Ram quarterback Connor Harford handed to Connor Gould, who broke away for 40-yard gain before being stopped by Viking Dean Grass on the 10-yard line as time ran out. Rams Sam Goguen, Ben Sniger, Ethan Porter made key tackles throughout the game.

On Oct. 10 at Troy Howard Middle School, the young players played games and the Dolphins beat the Chiefs 24-0 and the Vikings downed the Rams 16-0.

In the first game, the Dolphins scored in the second quarter on a 25-yard touchdown and two-point conversion by Jack Hanson. Dolphin Jack Hanson scored again in the third quarter, with the two-point conversion by Quintas Tibbetts. Jack Hanson hit paydirt again in the fourth quarter on a 30-yard score, while the two-point conversion came from Brian White. Aliah Ellsworth recovered a fumble.

Chief Dillon Curtis made three key defensive plays and, with only seconds left on the clock, Chief Jonah Lovejoy broke away for 25 yards but time ran out before another play could be made.

In the second game, Viking Grady Doolan scored on a 25-yard run in the first quarter, with Devindale Reynolds adding the two-point conversion. Late in the game, Viking Devindale Reynolds broke away for a 20-yard score, with Dylan Abbott added the two-point conversion. Viking Gage Newcombe made three key tackles.

The Rams key defensive players were Isaac Hamm, Colby Alley and Jared Drinkwater.

In Oct. 8 action at Troy Howard Middle School, the Dophins beat the Rams 32-6 and the Vikings downed the Chiefs 62-6.

The Dolphins dominated with touchdowns by Quintas Tibbetts, Hayden Sheldon, Issac Cunningham and two by Jack Hanson, with a two-point conversion by Tyler Ellsworth.

In the second quarter, the Rams scored on a pass by Colby Alley to Isaac Hamm. Key tackles during the game were made by Colby Alley, Isaac Ham, Ben Sniger and Ethan Porter, with two quarterback sacks by Sam Goguen, while Jared Drinkwater stripped and recovered the ball.

In the second game, Viking Skylar Perkins returned a kick 60 yards for a score, with Dean Grass adding the two-point conversion, Tyler Bartlett had a 35-yard touchdown, while the two-point conversion came from Dakota Doolan. Also in the quarter, there was a 40-yard score by Dean Grass and two-point conversion by Stanley Sturgis.

In the young players’ quarter, Grady Doolan had a 20-yard touchdown, with the two-point conversion by Dylan Abbott.

In the third quarter, Stanley Sturgis had a 40-yard kick return for a touchdown and Dean Grass a 40-yard score, with the two-point conversion by Stanley Sturgis.

In the fourth quarter, Chiefs Brendan Bruns and Ethan Mitchell proved strong defensively at the ends, with Brendan Bruns adding a 10-yard touchdown. Additionally, Stanley Sturgis returned a kick 60 yards for a score, with Nick Salvatore adding the two-point conversion.

Other recent play in the league was Oct. 18 at Belfast Area High School, with the Rams facing the Chiefs and Oct. 23 when the Vikings played the Chiefs and Dolphins met the Rams.
