While the official start of the 2011-12 high school basketball seasons is still a few weeks away, fans who simply have to get their hoop fix can watch some of the state’s most talented players in Maine Basketball Report’s 11th annual preseason all-star games set for Sundays, Nov. 13 and Nov. 20.

The games will include a bundle of players in VillageSoup’s coverage area, from Knox, Waldo and Lincoln counties, as well as the greater Augusta area and Mount Desert Island.

The games will be at Central Maine Community College in Auburn. The cost to attend is $5 for all of each day’s games.

Two hundred Maine high school players will participate “as we celebrate high school basketball and look ahead to the upcoming high school season,” said Tom Nolette of MBR.org. “The event recognizes good players from all school classifications for their hard work and accomplishments to this point in their careers.”

The event will have 10 players on each team representing their class. Class A West will play Class A East, Class B East versus Class B West, Class C East versus Class C West and Class D East versus Class D West.

There also will be Futures games, which will provide a look ahead to the Class of 2015 with East versus West for boys and girls.

Features for the games will include:

• MBR Radio on the Maine Sports Network will broadcast each game, including previews for the upcoming season. Catch the games on radio at AM870 Portland and at AM1470 Lewiston/Auburn. Games will be streamed on the Internet at mainesportsradio.com. Audio replays available the next day at radioreplays.com.

• Games will be available on DVD for $10 and will include MBR Radio’s broadcast.
