The future of the Mount View High School boys basketball program appears bright on many fronts and especially on one with the emergence of freshman Steven Davis on the court.

Davis competed in the “Futures” game Sunday as part of Maine Basketball Report’s annual preseason all-star event at Central Maine Technical College.

Davis played for the East, which won 60-57. Davis finished with 11 points, 14 rebounds, three blocked shots and a steal. He netted 1-of-2 free throws and played 21 minutes.

MBR’s 11th annual preseason all-star games were played Nov. 13 and will be played Nov. 20. The games were/will be at CMCC in Auburn.

Two hundred Maine high school players did/will participate “as we celebrate high school basketball and look ahead to the upcoming high school season,” said Tom Nolette of MBR.org. “The event recognizes good players from all school classifications for their hard work and accomplishments to this point in their careers.”

The event has 10 players on each team representing their class. Class A West will play Class A East, Class B East versus Class B West, Class C East versus Class C West and Class D East versus Class D West.
