Leroy “Bill” Paul, 79, of Palm Coast, Fla., died Nov. 15, 2011. He was born May 21, 1933, the son of Leroy Wilfred and Helene Cameron Paul, in Bangor.

A U.S. Air Force veteran, Bill graduated from Crosby High School in Belfast in 1951 and graduated from the University of Maine in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering.

For 30 years, he worked in heavy and industrial construction in various positions including field engineer, superintendent, project manager and vice president for Rust Engineering (Birmingham, Ala.), Cianbro (Pittsfield), W.M. Schlosser (Hyattsville, Md.), and Jacobs Engineering (Greenville, S.C.).

After retiring in 1990, Bill moved to Hilton Head, S.C. where he enjoyed golf and the beach. He also had a part-time construction management business. In 2000, he moved to Palm Coast, Fla.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Cynthia Gray.

Survivors include four daughters, Kim Tees (Jim) of Raymond, Kathy Toomey of Vero Beach, Fla., Karen Gray (Todd) of Keene, N.H., Kristen Betancourt (Ralph) of Winter Springs, Fla.; and five grandchildren.

In lieu of other remembrances, the family suggests donations be made to the Flagler Co. Humane Society, 1 Shelter Drive, Palm Coast, FL 32127.
