Unity College Centre for the Performing Arts, 42 Depot St., will welcome back the Barra MacNeils Christmas show Saturday, Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m. The family band has been celebrated for its outstanding recording and touring career for more than 20 years.

As a group, the six MacNeil siblings are widely regarded as one of the greatest live concert acts in the Celtic world. Hailing from Sydney Mines, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, the family group is deeply rooted in Celtic music, culture, dance language and history. Their numerous critically acclaimed recordings have included their own original songs as well as tried and true standards, both instrumental and vocal.

The Barra MacNeils’ annual Christmas show features a skillfully performed collection of seasonal favorites complete with captivating vocals, harmonies and extraordinary musicianship. Tickets are $25, $12.50 for children, and can be purchased at the door or online at unitymaine.org. Next up at the Centre is rising Celtic vocalist Aoife Clancy Thursday, Dec. 15 at 7:30 p.m. ($15).
