Beverly A. Ryan, 78, died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011 at a Bangor hospital. She was born in Richmond on June 4, 1933, the daughter of Vinton and Leona (Small) McKenna.

Beverly was an avid quilter and knitter, as well as a strong supporter of the fire department. She attended the Catholic church most of her life until her health didn’t allow for it in her recent years. She enjoyed people and her years as a bartender. Her grandchildren were the love of her life and she adored them.

She was predeceased by her first husband Harold Nix in 1974; and her second husband John Ryan in 1996; two sons, Bruce Nix in 1955 and Bruce Nix II in 1975; seven siblings, Judy Dearborn, Sue Ellen Moody, Kenneth McKenna, Roland McKenna, Lawrence McKenna, Robert McKenna and Stephen McKenna.

Survivors include her children, Karen and John York of Montville, Vickie and Luke Dorney of New York, Mark Nix and his significant other Tina Heath of New York, Tim Ryan of Massachusetts, Terry Ryan of New Hampshire, Maureen and Byron Lyon of New York, Marjorie and Bill Bright of New York, Colleen and Ed Bannan of New York, Richard and Debbie Ryan of New York, and Michael and Joani Ryan of New York; brothers, Rodney and Harold McKenna; sister, Corinne Beckwith; as well as numerous grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
