Searsport District High School hosted a preseason basketball tournament Saturday with three boys teams participating in the post-Thanksgiving hoopla.

North Haven, Central of East Corinth and the host Vikings squared off in three games, with Searsport defeating both the Hawks and Red Devils to finish first in the round robin tourney. North Haven went 1-1 and Central 0-2.

Both Searsport and Central play in Class C, while North Haven toils in Class D.

The end of the tourney saw the Searsport girls face off against visiting Islesboro. A girls tourney was scheduled for Nov. 25 with the Vikings, Eagles and Calvary Christian of Turner, but the event was canceled because at least one of the teams could not attend. Thus, the Eagles made the jaunt to SDHS Saturday to salvage one game.
