The Busline League middle school small school basketball teams hit the Midcoast courts Tuesday, with the Hope and St. George boys and Lincolnville and Appleton girls notching victories.

Hope 54, Lincolnville 31 … At Lincolnville Nov. 29, Julian Starbird poured in 30 points to lead the visiting Hawks to the victory over the host Lynx. Lincolnville led 9-6 after one quarter before Hope took a 22-20 cushion at halftime and 30-22 advantage after three. The Hawks soared to 24 points in the fourth quarter.

Besides Starbird, leading the Hawks were Max Pushaw and Wade Reynolds both with eight points; Matt Young, four; and Joah Welt, Louis Laurita, Matt Young and Craig Curtis, all with two.

For Lincolnville, Peyton Young netted 15 points; Alex Copeland, eight; Avery Grindle, seven; Andy Pitcairn, two; and Morgan Mercier, one.

St. George 46, Nobleboro 31 … At St. George Nov. 29, the host Dragons came away with a 15-point victory over Nobleboro. St. George led 13-9, 27-15, and 33-21 at the quarter breaks.

For the Dragons, Mitchell DelFrate poured in 18 points, while Cadden Lavoie added 10; Max Lombardo and Daniel Harriman, both four; Zach Davis, three; and Caleb Elwell and Drew Paulsen, both two.

Lincolnville 40, Hope 32 … At Lincolnville Nov. 29, the game was knotted 8-8 after the first eight minutes before the host Lynx grabbed 23-18 edge at halftime and led 27-26 after three quarters. The Lynx then outscored the Hawks 13-6 over the final eight minutes to notch the win.

For the Lynx, Elizabeth Cummons, Emma McGurren and Katia Kordek all scored eight points; Brooke Benson, seven; Mya Wiley, five; and Keira Hayes, four.

For Hope, Kira Barley tossed in 16 points; Laticia Billings, eight; Kelsie Merrill, six; and Nicole Brown, two.

Appleton 39, South Bristol 26 … At South Bristol Nov. 29, the game was tied 4-4 after one quarter before the visiting Wildcats grabbed an 18-5 edge at halftime and 29-18 advantage after three stanzas en route to the win.

For Appleton, Payton Wiley tallied 13 points; Kristen Keiran, 12; Victoria Anderson, eight; and Gillian Lafleche, six.

For South Bristol, I. Gilbert scored 10 points; E. Gilbert, five; A. Brewer, four; R. Naylor, three; and J. Farrin and N. Cushing, both two.
