Adam David Kaufman, 38, of Thorndike, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Nov. 30, 2011.

Born Aug. 6, 1973, in Attleboro, Mass., Adam moved to Maine as a young child. He attended Searsport District High School and went on to study culinary arts at Eastern Maine Technical College and then music theory at the University of Maine in Augusta. Adams greatest joys in life were loving his girls, his family, music, caring for the elderly, and of course, his puppy, Pele. In recent years, his passion for music led him from the stage to the studio, finally owning his own business, Alchemy Recording Studio in Belfast, with a vision of providing an opportunity for children and young adults of the community to create and share their musical gifts.

Having touched the lives of so many, he will be eternally missed by his fiancé, Wendy Pastio, and their girls, Sarah and Kirsten; his parents, Ronald P. Kaufman and Brenda Curtis Kaufman of Winthrop; his brother, Devon; his sisters, Jennifer of Providence, R.I., Danielle, Jenna, and Georgia Meservey and her husband, Brent, of Thomaston; his nephews, Kai and Ayden; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.

A funeral service will be held at Young Funeral Home, 31 West Main St. in Searsport on Saturday, Dec. 3. All will gather there to share their memories at 11 a.m., followed by the service at noon.
