The 17th annual Maine Soccer Coaches Senior Bowl took place Nov. 13 at Hampden Academy, with many of the top high school senior players in the state participating throughout all four classes.

The West boys prevailed 7-3 against the East, while the East girls picked up a 5-3 victory over the West.

A handful of Midcoast players participated in the event, including Camden Hills’ Sam Predham, Ian Cushing, Malcolm Steele and Andrew Flanagan; Mount View’s Zoli Kertesz; Vinalhaven’s Steven Osgood, Izzy Drury, Blake Reidy and Alex Slivinsky; and Medomak Valley’s Mallory Conary.

In the boys game, Osgood creased the net for the West boys, while Flanagan added a score for the East boys. Cushing also spent time in net for the East boys, while Slivinsky was one of two keepers for the West girls.

Also scoring in the boys game for the East were Nick Shaw of Mount Desert Island with two goals, while Blake Hart of Mount Blue, Robbie Lentine of Windham, Kevin Lubelczyk of Gorham and Tim Lavallee of Cape Elizabeth each had one goal in the win. Falmouth’s Brandon Tuttle added two assists for the winners.

Bengi Abdisalan-Saban of Lewiston and Jeremy Beers of Calais each scored for the East boys in addition to Flanagan’s tally, while Woodland’s Ryan Lincoln split time with Cushing in net. Richmond’s Tyler Harrington and George Stevens Academy’s Ben Olivari guarded the net for the West.

In the girls game, Jaclyn Masters of Edward Little tallied two goals, while Cassandra Murano of Brunswick, Chelsea Kuzio of Hampden and Jillian Diaferio of Southern Aroostook each had one goal in the win. Bangor’s Ashley Robinson also had an assist. For the West, Audrey Parolin of Greely, Brooke Lawrence of Lisbon and Danica Hurley of Richmond netted goals, while Aley Leonardi of Kennebunk and Haley Carnigan of Scarborough added assists.

Missy Thompson of Brewer, Breanna Martin of Oxford Hills, Morgan Swan of Caribou, Samantha Brownell of Central and Felicia Thornton of Lee Academy each took turns in net for the East, while Alex Slivinsky of Vinalhaven and Lindsay Hoopingarner of Richmond minded the nets for the West.
