Readers are reminded that an arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

Law enforcement officials with the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office reported the following recent activity:

Nov. 21

Caleb Roy, 19, of Burnham was summoned for operating after suspension and attaching false plates.

Jesse J. Spencer, 24, of Winterport was summoned for speeding (62 mph in a 35 mph zone).

Nov. 22

Joshua W. Farrar, 24, of Montville was summoned for an inspection sticker violation.

Nov. 23

Bruce W. Cook, 60, of Burnham was traveling east on Winnecook Road in Burnham in a 2002 Ford just before 6 a.m. Meanwhile, 63-year-old Anne F. Bixby of Albion was headed north on Horseback Road in her 2005 Mitsubishi. Cook slid through the intersection due to the ice and snow on the roadway and hit Bixby, forcing her vehicle off the road. No one was hurt in the accident.

Nov. 26

Arthur G. Carlow, 35, of Winterport was arrested on a charge of violating conditions of release.

Sam Tufts, 24, of Frankfort was summoned for operating with an inadequate tire.

Nov. 27

William J. Runci, 38, of Swanville was arrested on charges of violating conditions of release, operating while license is suspended or revoked (with three prior convictions), driving to endanger and speeding (66 mph in a 45 mph zone).
