The Midcoast Ice Cats have begun another season on the ice and started with a game against visiting Brewer Dec. 12 at the Midcoast Recreation Center.

The ‘Cats are a cooperative, coed high school club team that plays a mostly jayvee schedule. The Ice Cats include student-athletes, both boys and girls, from Oceanside, Camden Hills, Belfast, Mount View of Thorndike, Medomak Valley, Lincoln Academy of Newcastle and Gray-New Gloucester.

Although complete information from the team’s first game with the Witches was unavailable (it will be added if it becomes available), it is known the Ice Cats and Witches were tied 2-2 at one point in the second period. At that point, Noah Klewin had two goals and Bailey McCaffery an assist for the hosts ‘Cats.

The ‘Cats include Parker Spear, Luke Noonan, Kerry Madden, Kenny Scheimreif, McCaffery, Klewin, Lea Smith, Shelby Fogg, Shane Beacham, Preston Spear, A.J. Naum, Nate Lord, Sam Kulikowski and Shawn Seacotte. The coach is Mike Schroeder.
