Dennis Jasper Webber passed away Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012. He was born Nov. 2, 1941 to Donald and Mabel Webber of Belfast.

Dennid graduated from Crosby High School in Belfast, class of 1960. Dennis served in the United States Army for 23 years, served one year in Vietnam, and retired from his Army career in 1987. Dennis Graduated from Pensacola Bible Institute in 1991 and enjoyed preaching and missions field work.

From 1997 to 2003 Dennis worked for the Maine State Ferry Service, Islesboro Ferry. Dennis served for several years as a troop greeter at Bangor International Airport, welcoming service members home from overseas tours of duty, and also served as a volunteer chaplain at the Togus Veteran’s Hospital.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Daryl Webber; daughter, Sue Reilly of Washington, N.J.; son, David Webber of Cutler; daughter, Dianne Webber of Wallkill, N.Y.; and son, Donald Webber of Liberty; as well as 15 grandchildren. Dennis is also survived by his sister, Carolyn Devita of Kent, Conn.; a sister, Linda Soares of Belfast; and brother, Michael Webber of Belfast.

A remembrance service will be held at the Church Hill Baptist Church in Augusta on Thursday, Jan. 5 at 11 a.m. The service will be preceded by a one-hour viewing and fellowship time starting at 10 a.m. A graveside service will be held at the Maplewood Cemetery, Ducktrap Road, Lincolnville, at approximately 3 p.m.
