Arthur W. Leadbetter, 68, died Jan. 7, 2012 at a local nursing home. He was born in Belfast on Feb. 4, 1943, the son of Norman and Geneva Leadbetter.

Arthur enjoyed the outdoors. He loved being outside hunting, fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed making his own wine. He worked for years at Stinson’s and Penobscot and then worked for years with John Hurley, doing local house painting.

He was predeceased by his parents and an infant brother.

Arthur is survived by four children, Tina and her husband Keith Pendleton of Islesboro, Norman Leadbetter of Portland, Amber Doughty and her husband Travis of Belfast, and Derek Leadbetter of Freedom; five brothers and sisters, Fred Leadbetter of Maryland, Lorraine Erskine of Dixmont, Trixie Jewett of Palermo, John Leadbetter of Belmont, and Helen of Waldo; and six grandchildren.
