Tanglewood 4-H Camp and Learning Center, a program of University of Maine Cooperative Extension, has announced a two-day Winter February Vacation Camps for children 6 to 13 years old. “Winter Wanderers”, a program for 6 to 8-year-olds, will take place on Feb. 21 and Feb. 22. “Winter Survivors”, a program for 9 to 13-year-olds, will be held on Feb. 23 and Feb. 24. The day camps take place at Tanglewood’s Lincolnville Campus from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day, with optional after-care provided until 4 p.m.

“Winter Wanderers” will ride into Tanglewood’s cozy winter lodge, where they will learn how to be wildlife trackers and discover how plants and animals adapt to survive the winter through exploration, puppetry and art. “Winter Survivors” will embark on an adventure quest, to discover secrets for staying warm in the snow, building a winter shelter and tracking wild animals.

The cost of this two-day program is $65 per child (optional After Care is an additional $15). Participants must bring their own bag lunch.
