High school boys and girls basketball in Waldo County is drawing to a close as many teams look to wrap up their respective regular seasons on a positive note.

The results were not what Belfast and Searsport squads had in mind as all four teams fell against talented opponents in recent games.

The Belfast boys dropped a 72-53 decision to Winslow Feb. 3, while the Lion girls fell 52-32 to the Black Raiders the same day. The Searsport boys also lost 68-44 to Bucksport Feb. 2, while the Viking girls were downed by Penobscot Valley of Howland 62-53 Feb. 4.

The regular season ends for all high school hoop teams on Friday, Feb. 10.
