Ultimately, months of hard work were not enough to help the eight Waldo County high school basketball teams earn berths into the upcoming regional tournaments.

While the Mount View and Searsport boys, as well as the Islesboro girls, all came close to solidifying playoff spots, all of the local squads will be spectators for the playoffs, which begin with prelim games for girls on Tuesday, Feb. 14 and for boys Wednesday, Feb. 15.

The regional tourneys continue in Bangor and Augusta starting Friday and Saturday, Feb. 17-18 and continue through Friday, Feb. 24.

The Maine Principals’ Association Heal Point Standings have been finalized as the regular season for all Maine high school hoop squads ended Feb. 10.
