The Christmas wedding and reception of Lyle Thorell and Marilyn Caron Thorell were held on Dec. 17, 2011 at “The Summit,” located at Point Lookout in Northport. The ceremony was performed by Pastor Scott Baker of Little River Church in Belfast and was attended by 100 friends and family members.

The wedding party consisted of Marilyn’s entire immediate family: two daughters, three granddaughters, grandson, brother, son-in-law and step-daughter. The bride’s party consisted of Cheryl Milner of Lincolnville, matron of honor; Laurie Caron of Belfast, maid of honor; Ashlie Staples of Searsmont and Carrie Milner of Lincolnville, bridesmaids; and Abby Milner of Linconville and Kailee Thorell of East Corinth, flower girls.

Standing with the groom were Travis Milner of Lincolnville, best man and ring bearer; and Bill Carpenter of Florida, groomsman. Bill Carpenter also gave the bride away. Alvin Milner read scripture (I Cor. 13), and Frank Whalen played the piano for the service.

All the ladies wore attractive red and black outfits with rhinestone jewelry and carried beautiful bouquets of ivory roses with red ribbons. The men wore black suits with red ties and ivory rose boutonnieres.

The Christmas marriage was complete with snow falling during the ceremony and the facility beautifully decorated with red and ivory linens, lit fireplaces and candles, Christmas trees, wreaths and greenery. Even the three-layer rectangular wedding cake was decorated for Christmas.

The bride and groom topped off this perfect wedding day by honeymooning several nights in a cozy log cabin, complete with fireplace, at Point Lookout.
