On Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 6:30 p.m., at the Belfast Free Library, 17-year-old Clayton Clemetson from Belfast will offer a slide show about his recent high school semester in Ecuador with an organization called Kroka Expeditions, based in New Hampshire.

In the presentation, Clemetson will share images and stories from his trip: photos from the weeks spent biking over the Andes, rafting, exploring the jungle, glacier climbing, and ascending the 19,000-foot active volcano, Cotopaxi.

He and 12 other teens, according to a press release from the library, formed a strong community together as they explored the incredible landscapes of Ecuador and were immersed in the culture; visiting indigenous tribes and villages to learn their crafts and traditions.

Krokas Expeditions’ New Hampshire-Ecuador semester provides an immersion into the cultural, economic and social lives of two contrasting parts of the world: New England and Ecuador. For more information, visit kroka.org

This program is free and open to all. For more information call the library at 338-3884 ext 10.
