The Searsport and North Searsport United Methodist Churches invite the community to their Ash Wednesday worship on Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m.

A shared worship service will be held at the Searsport United Methodist Church, and marks the beginning of the season of Lent. The Rev. Steve MacLeod will begin a sermon series on atonement, with a message entitled, “Recognizing Sins.” The series will continue through all six Sundays in Lent.

The North Searsport United Methodist Church in located at the intersection of Mount Ephraim Road and Loop Road, seven miles from downtown Searsport, and near the North Searsport Fire Station. Sunday worship begins at 8:45 a.m.

Searsport United Methodist Church is located across the street from the Penobscot Marine Museum on Main Street (Route 1) in downtown Searsport; Sunday worship begins at 11 a.m. For more information, call the church office at 548-2239.
