Time Warner Cable and the Maine Public Broadcasting Network are partnering to air live games from the Maine Principals’ Association’s girls and boys high school basketball tournaments.

Time Warner Cable and MPBN will show a total of 56 games from the Bangor Auditorium, Augusta Civic Center and Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland. The live broadcasts will begin Wednesday, Feb. 22, and continue on Thursday, Feb. 23; Friday, Feb. 24; and Saturday, Feb. 25. They will conclude with the state Class B championship games on Friday, March 2, and the Class A, C and D championships on Saturday, March 3.

“Maine’s high school basketball tournament is one of our state’s great winter traditions, and our employees are proud to team up with MPBN to bring the action to our customers’ homes,” said Paul S. Schonewolf, New England area vice president for Time Warner Cable. “It’s one of the many ways Time Warner Cable’s network connects our customers with information, entertainment and each other.”

“MPBN is proud of its 33-year history of bringing the high school state championship tournament into the homes of Maine citizens,” said Gil Maxwell, vice president and chief technology officer at MPBN. “We could not produce and deliver the tournament without the support of Time Warner Cable and the New England School of Communications.”

The games will be shown on TWC TV (Channel 9) and MPBN (Channels 10 or 13, depending on location) and on MPBN’s digital channels 170, 171, 180 or 181, depending on location. In addition, replays of the eight state championship games will be available on Time Warner Cable’s TWC TV On Demand channel, courtesy of MPBN.

The complete schedule is available at twctv.net and mpbn.net. TWC TV is a programming service of Time Warner Cable featuring coverage of local events, sports, people and places.
