“The Belfast Civil War Quilt — Belfast Women Sew a Patriotic Legacy,” a “Window on History” monthly video program produced by the Belfast Historical Society and Museum will air on Belfast Community Television throughout March.

Megan Pinette, president of the Belfast Historical Society, and Pam Weeks, quilt historian and curator at the New England Quilt Museum, present the history of the soldiers quilt sewn by the Ladies Aid Society of First Church, Belfast and sent in 1864 to the Armory Square Hospital in Washington. This program, the “rest of the story,” will tell how the quilt came to be returned home in 2011.

“Window on History” can be seen on BCTV-2 on Tuesdays at 7 p.m., Thursdays at 9:30 a.m., and Saturdays at 4:30 p.m. You can also enjoy the program online at belfastmuseum.org, or borrow a DVD of the program from the Belfast Library.
