David A. Richardson, 82, died at his home March 22, 2012.


He was born in Lincolnville on Oct. 29, 1929, the son of Alonzo and Eunice (Sutherland) Richardson. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years Muriel N. (Heal) Richardson and his first daughter Debbie.


He worked for New England Telephone for 25 years while running a chicken farm of 16,000 hens and was well-known as “Jack” of Jack’s Grocery in Belfast. In his retirement he loved working at his son’s restaurant, Ridgetop in Knox, and had a passion for horse racing and going to Las Vegas.


He is survived by his three children, Pamela and William Harford; Jeffery and Deanna Richardson; and Kristy Richardson. He is also survived by four grandchildren who will truly miss him — Travis, Nikole, Erin and Alicia — and four great-grandchildren who called him Grampa Jack — Kyle, Jaime, Ashley and Colten.


He had an active family life with 11 brothers and sisters and many nieces and nephews.


At his request there will be no services.
