Bay Chamber Concerts and Community Music School has announced the 2012 dates for the Next Generation Summer Chamber Music Program, a week-long intensive music camp for ages 12 to 22.

Students will receive coaching from Bay Chamber’s head of faculty Gilda Joffe, Anastasia Antonacos, Patricia Stowell and other professional faculty. Additional master classes and workshops are offered by musicians from the professional performances of Bay Chamber Concerts Summer Music Series — this year, Geoff Nutall and Chris Costanza from the St. Lawrence String Quartet, together with Livia Sohn.

This summer’s program will run Monday through Friday, Aug. 13 through 17, with a performance for family and friends at the Rockport Opera House. The daily schedule will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m, with a break for a complimentary lunch. Four hours of coaching each day will be balanced with time for other musical workshops and outdoor activities. Participants will be invited to attend two performances from the Summer Music Series, featuring several of their coaches. The five-day program is open to wind, string, brass, piano and vocal applicants, as well as preformed ensembles.

Tuition is $425 for the Next Generation program. Applications are due May 1 together with a $50 application fee. More information and an application can be found on the Bay Chamber Concerts website, baychamberconcerts.org, or call 236-2823.
