Everyone is invited to a book celebration and art opening for “hear if you dare” Friday, April 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Belfast Free Library, 106 High St. There will be live music by Tremolino, delicious tapas and a brief poetry reading at 7 p.m.

The book “hear if you dare” is a year-long collaboration between poet Lauren Murray and artist Joan Proudman, comprising 18 poems by Murray, each accompanied by Proudman’s photo illustrations. The writing and artwork explore the theme of inner listening, creativity and the Divine.

Murray is a poet who lives and works in Belfast. Proudman is a dancer and an artist who lives in Freedom. Selected artwork and poems from their book will be on display throughout the month of April in the library’s Kramer Gallery. For more information, call the library at 338-3884, ext. 30.
