The Rockland Art market is a cooperative¬† based on the farmers’ market concept and its has space available this summer for new artists and crafts people.

This year’s Art Market will be held outdoors at the Mildred Merrill Park, just up the hill from Harbor Park, Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., June through September. Set-up is easy, hours are short and everybody helps promote the market. Current media represented are jewelry, sculpture, paintings in watercolor and oil, hats, scarves, hand-painted fabrics and found object art. Organizers are open to all creative media and are especially seeking a potter to replace the one who can no longer participate.

Participants need to have their own white canopy/tent and pay yearly dues, which cover their share of the market’s space and expenses. Those interested in being part of the Rockland Art Market are asked to supply samples of their work via e-mail or website referral, then come to a jury meeting later in the spring.
