Mary E. Vallera, 85, died April 7, 2012, at a Bangor hospital. She was born in Rockland on July 9, 1926, the daughter of Wilbert and Agnes (Collarmore) MacDonald.

Mary worked for many years locally in the pants factory, Stinson’s Canning and at Metro Glass packing bottles. She was a lifetime member of the Belfast VFW.

She was predeceased by her husband Michael; daughter Michaelene McKay; and grandson Anthony Vallera.

She is survived by seven children, Wilbert Vallera of Pennsylvania, Rev. Judy Smith of Iowa, Nancy York of Belfast, Barbara Vallera of Thomaston, Shirley MacHinski of Sanford, Mary Thompson of Florida, Jane Nealey of Northport; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to call at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast, Friday, April 13, from 2 to 3 p.m., where funeral services will take place at 3 p.m. with Rev. Ken Davenport officiating. Interment will be at Saturday Cove Cemetery in Northport.
