The Waldo County Soil & Water Conservation District will host the annual spring tree and shrub sale May 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Waldo Regional Technical Center on Route 137 in Waldo. Waldo County SWCD has pre-ordered a variety of plants, shrubs, fruit trees and berries, and will have them on display for the one-day sale for folks to come in, take a look at and purchase. The plants will be wrapped, packed and send home with the buyer. No mail orders will be taken this year.

The horticulture class at the tech center will also have the greenhouse open with flower and vegetable seedlings available for purchase and the Waldo County 4-H group will be selling organic compost.

During the day, a group of Master Gardeners will be available to answer questions about gardening and planting, and Waldo County SWCD invite other nonprofit groups to join with any fundraising projects they would like to do. Groups interested in participating should call Kym Sanderson at 338-1964, ext. 3.

All proceeds from the tree and shrub sale will go toward conservation education in Waldo County.
