The Belfast sixth-grade boys basketball travel squad played in four tournaments this season and finished as champions in three of them.

The young Lions won their first tournament in Hampden, finished as runners-up in Ellsworth, won in Warren and placed first in their final event March 23-25 at Mount View in Thorndike.

Belfast finished 18-1 during the travel season. All the youngsters played and practiced since tryouts the first week of November. The regular-season team included players from both the sixth- and seventh-grade Troy Howard Middle School squad that won the Busline League championship.

This sixth-grade group compiled an impressive record of 33-3 since November.

The sixth-grade travel team included Ricky Smith, Stanley Sturgis, Tyler Bartlett, Nicholas Salvatore, Skylar Perkins, Aaron Fuller, Dakoda Doolan, Sam Goguen and Conner Kneeland. The coaches were Stanley Sturgis Sr. and Penson Bartlett.
