There is a new face at Arthur Jewell Community Health Center in Brooks. Edie Konesni, PA-C, has begun seeing patients Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Konesni, who worked in the Emergency Department at Waldo County General Hospital on a per diem basis, from January 2008 to March 2010, has spent most of her practice in Maine at Islesboro Health Center, working there from September 1983 to July 1988 and again from January 1998 to March 2010.

“I like working in Rural Health Centers,” she says. “I like the variety of a family practice, working with pediatrics to geriatrics and in women’s health.”

Konesni left Islesboro to move onto the mainland in the spring of 2010 because she wanted to be closer to her adult children.

Konesni received her degree as a Physician Assistant in August 1978 from Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C. She is a fellow member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

She joins Ron Cormier, FNP, at AJCHC.
