Belfast Maskers will open its production of “Steel Magnolias,” Robert Harling’s popular southern comedy, Friday, April 20 for a two-weekend run at two different locales.

Performances will be: Friday and Saturday, April 20 and 21 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 22 at 2 p.m. at Waldo County Shrine Club, 85 Northport Ave., Belfast; and Thursday through Saturday, April 26 through 28 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 29 at 2 p.m. at Union Hall, Union and Reservoir streets, Searsport.

In the Louisiana beauty parlor of Truvy Jones, six women share laughs, stories and insults amidst the hairspray while engaging the audience in hilarious, and sometimes poignant, gossip. Directed by Angela Bonacasa, “Steel Magnolias” features Sunny Kirkham, Linda Leppanen, Andrea Littlefield, Valerie Philbrick, Savannah Szumilas and Sonia Vasquez.
