Permaculture is a design system and set of techniques for creating resilient human habitats and healthy ecosystems. It is modeled on ecological principles and covers a wide range of design areas including food production, shelter, energy, water, wellness, community, culture and economics. Permaculture, in a concrete sense, is a form of landscape design and is useful to everyone from home gardeners to city planners. It is also a practice of land stewardship and much more. The presenters will talk about some of the permaculture ethics, principles, strategies and techniques, and discuss the importance and potential of permaculture┬┤s design-based solutions in today’s world of economic, energy and environmental uncertainties, while looking at local, working, examples of permaculture in process.
