Unity College Centre for the Performing Arts, 42 Depot St., will present North Sea Gas Thursday, May 10 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the door or by sending e-mail to jsullivan@unity.edu.

North Sea Gas, one of Scotland’s most popular folk bands, features Ronnie MacDonald, Grant Simpson and Dave Gilfillan, 30 years on and still going strong. The trio match strong vocal solos and three-part harmonies with guitars, mandolin, fiddle, bouzouki, whistles, bodhrans, banjo and good humor. They have received gold and silver disc awards from the Scottish Music Industry Association and regularly sell out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The latest of their 14 albums is “Edinburgh Toon,” recorded live in “The Lot,” Grassmarket, Edinburgh, in 2009.
