The Searsmont Town Library is showcasing a mother/daughter art exhibit during the months of May and June. Work by Leah and Willa Rainy may be viewed in the library, located in the Searsmont Community Center at the intersection of routes 131 and 173.

The public is invited to a children’s tea party with the artists Saturday, May 12 from 1 to 2 p.m.

Willa Rainy is 9 years old; this is her first art show and she is excited about sharing a selection of her favorite drawings. Willa has been drawing since she was 3 years old and she exhibits a whimsical, fun artistic style. He mother, Leah Rainy, also an artist, is showing several of her original oil paintings. Leah comes from a family of artists and studied painting in college. She has shown her work in Vermont, Massachusetts and Maine.
