Joseph Christian Greer, has been offered the first PhD seat at the University of Amsterdam School of Applied Religious Studies for an American student. He will begin his research as a junior research candidate in the Netherlands in August and will graduate with his Doctorate in 2016.

Greer graduated in 2006 as Suma Cum Laude from the University Professors Program at Boston University. He then went on to complete his first Masters Degree in Religious Studies at the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands in 2008.

Upon graduating from the University of Amsterdam, Greer moved to Tokyo, Japan for one year and taught english.

Upon returning to the United States, Greer attended and graduated from Harvard University School of Theology with his second Masters Degree. He was then accepted to the PhD program at the University of Amsterdam.

Greer has lectured and taught classes all around the globe and is published in various journals.

Greer is a resident of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and Cape Neddick, Maine. His parents are Dr. Robert and Kelli Greer, formerly of Belfast and Swanville, Maine.
