“Art2012,” the 17th annual juried art exhibition at the Harlow Gallery, offers 55 works of art by 49 artists, out of a total of 296 works of art submitted by 103 artists. Installation artist Amy Stacey Curtis and photographer Luc Demers judged the show on May 3.

The public is invited to the opening reception Friday, May 11 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the downtown gallery, 160 Water St., where “Art2012” will be on view through June 2. The opening is free and open to the public, and $1,350 in prize money will be awarded to artists in a ceremony beginning at 6 p.m.

The annual juried art exhibition draws artists to Hallowell from all over the state of Maine, including the Midcoast. “Art2012” sponsors are Kennebec Savings Bank and the Wolfington Group.
