“Through the Lens,” a juried competition for Maine photographers, opened May 11 at the Lyceum Gallery, 49 Lisbon St. Two Midcoast photographers — Petrea Noyes of Lincolnville and Charles Laurier Dufour of Belfast — juried into the show, and Dufour received a first-place award.

The winning artists and their work were announced during an opening reception May 11, attended by a record gathering of photography enthusiasts. Dufour’s “Stream of Consciousness” was given first place in the black-and-white division.

The show runs through June 8, and gallery hours are Wednesdays through Saturdays from 5 to 8 p.m. and by appointment; call 576-4805.
