Ralph Truman Fudge, 78, of Belfast died Monday, May 14, 2012, at Waldo County General Hospital. He was born Nov. 1, 1933, in Elmira, N.Y., the son of Ralph Ellsworth and Mary Louise (Morse) Fudge. On Nov. 11, 1955, he married Suzanne B. Reynolds in Elmira.

Truman attended Elmira public schools and graduated from Colgate University in 1955 and the Berkeley Divinity School at Yale in 1968. He was ordained as priest in the Episcopal Church in 1969. Truman served Christ Church in Westerly, R.I., from 1968 through 1973 and St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church in Belfast from 1974 until he retired Nov. 1, 1995. He was an adjunct member of the faculty at Bangor Theological Seminary from 1987 to 1993.

He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Fudge of Belfast; their two daughters, Mary Virginia “Ginny” Fudge and her partner John McDonald of Montville and Susan Elizabeth Fudge of Portland; six grandchildren, Sara Elise Drinkwater and her partner Kyle White, Daniel K. Woodrow Jr. and his partner Amanda Peaslee, Carie Elizabeth Woodrow and her partner Tom Correy, Madison Alexander Leddy, Truman Henry Leddy and Jack Ellsworth Leddy; five great-grandchildren, twins Adara and Kira Woodrow, Bailey Cole Woodrow, Jazmin Skylar Correy, and Oliver Myles Correy. Truman is also survived by two sisters, Sara Elizabeth “Sally” Grayson and her husband, David, of Cherry Hill, N.J., and Barbara Mae Courtright and her husband, James, of Waterloo, N.Y., and their families.

A Memorial Eucharist will be celebrated 1 p.m. Saturday, June 2 at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, 100 Court St., Belfast.
