A Frankfort man — who police say has been arrested 10 times in the last year alone — was arrested on several charges Thursday, May 31, in connection with an allegation that he touched a 15-year-old girl inappropriately.

Christopher Beeton, 24, of Frankfort was arrested on charges of unlawful sexual touching, furnishing liquor to a minor, violating conditions of release and on a probation violation after police received a complaint from the alleged victim Wednesday, May 30.

Waldo County Chief Deputy Jeff Trafton said the girl also told police Beeton provided her with alcohol on the evening of the alleged incident.

The girl was not physically hurt during the incident, Trafton said, but she did take the initiative to contact police shortly after the incident allegedly occurred.

Beeton, said Trafton, is no stranger to local police and that he has been arrested on various charges 10 times in the past year alone. Most notably, Trafton said Beeton was arrested in connection with a string of burglaries that were reported throughout the county last year, including one incident where Beeton was charged with breaking into the Thorndike Fire Station.

Last June, according to Journal archives, Beeton was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, criminal mischief and criminal trespass following an incident that allegedly took place at a Ryan Road apartment. In that incident, Beeton allegedly assaulted a male victim with a steel pipe.

Beeton is scheduled to appear in Fifth District Court on the latest charges he faces Tuesday, July 17.
