Timothy A. Simmons, 44, of Belmont died unexpectedly May 15, 2012, in Windsor. He was born June 30, 1967, in Garland, Texas, to Lt. Colonel Allen E. and Lorraine “Sharon” Simmons.

At an early age Tim became enamored with the standardbred horse industry, and was working at Bangor Raceway until his death. He had worked for several trainers and owners at many racetracks around the state. He always enjoyed the “tightness” of the racing community.

Tim was predeceased by his father and a brother, Bruce.

He is survived by his mother, Sharon, his sister, Ellen Sawyer, and husband Tom of Belfast and his brother, John, and Stephanie Simmons of Deland, Fla. He is also survived by his uncle and aunt, Ben and Mandie Sawyer. Most importantly he leaves behind his precious nieces, Brynne and Aubrey Sawyer, who were the light of his life. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles and cousins and his extended family of the horse industry.

At this time there will be no services.

In lieu of gifts the family would appreciate a donation to help cover funeral costs. Send to Ellen Sawyer, 378B Belmont Ave., Belfast, ME 04915.
